Hidden heroine: Harriet Byles

Harriet Byles taught at the Salts High School for girls when Medina Griffiths was headmistress. Harriet became the second headmistress of the school and followed the enlightened principles of her predecessor. She ensured that many of her pupils achieved university places and worthwhile careers.
