Temporary closure of the Collection

Regretfully, there will be no access to the Saltaire Collection from early June until Spring 2024.

The Saltaire Collection’ s home in the Exhibition Building of Shipley College underwent major renovations in July and August 2023. That meant we had to move out all of our precious items. That took our volunteers a lot of hard work in June to carefully pack our 6000 or so items ready for removal to a secure archive store.

The items will return in late September 2023. Our volunteers will then carefully unpack the collection, giving us a great opportunity to condition check all items.

Unfortunately, this means that we will remain closed until Spring 2024 to complete this work.

So please bear with us. Our website and online catalogue will be available throughout this period.
