Oral History: Donald Hanson

A 45-page oral history of Donald Hanson and his role as chair and joint chief executive of Illingworth, Morris. The Company had its headquarters at Salts Mill.  The story records his career and a time of crisis for the business as Pamela Mason tried to ‘sack’ the Yorkshire Directors of the company in 1980/81. Donald’s work as a senior manager across a number of textile mills, provides much insight into the changing nature of the worsted manufacturing trade for the area from the 1950s to the 1980s.
