The learning resources and workshops all include aspects of the unique heritage of Saltaire and other areas of Bradford. They all reference the National Curriculum Primary Framework whilst aiming to make learning come alive for children.
There is a mix of workshops for Key Stage 1, Lower Key Stage 2 and Upper Key Stage 2 but the ideas can easily be adapted for children of different abilities. Each workshop has all of the resources required for teachers to lead the sessions themselves. Some even have a Learning Box that can accompany the workshops and include toys and props that can make sessions even more interactive and experiential.
Saltaire Stories always recommend that children visit Saltaire as part of their learning. Our pre and post visit teaching packs for the Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2, complement either a school led visit or a guided tour. The packs also include our Children’s Discovery Trail, maps and information that will be useful for organising a trip.
If you would like the Learning Officer from Saltaire Stories to lead one of the workshops or if you have a curriculum topic that you would like to explore further, please contact: firstname.lastname@example.org to make a booking.
New lesson materials and ideas will be added as they are developed.
