Items related to the long and ongoing history of education in Saltaire.

Provision of education was important to the founding Salt family who funded the early Factory School and later the Saltaire Club and Institute, the Girls and Boys High Schools, and the Technical and Art School. Sir Titus also gifted land for the building of a primary school on Albert Road.

Sarah Anne Walker: visionary educator

Sarah Walker was born in Shipley, educated in Saltaire. She became a leading proponent and practitioner of the training of women teachers and elementary education.
